Three corrugated steel pipe sand filters were deemed as equals to VDOT specified concrete vault sand filters and allowed as alternates to the more costly and time-involved installations. The 84 inch, 5 x 1, 12 gauge polymer coated CSP sand filters provide both storm water detention and water quality treatment through a high performance 
filtering process. Unlike all other water quality devices, underground sand filters combine these two features in an integrated system. The ability to construct underground sand filters with CSP materials provides a detention system unequaled water quality performance that’s virtually unrecognized.
