Project Spotlight: Tucson Rain Water Harvesting Projects

by:  Pacific Corrugated Pipe Co.

These projects occurred in the spring of 2015. Southern Arizona Rain Gutters, Inc. was responsible for the installation of the corrugated steel water tanks.

These corrugated tanks are set vertically into a concrete base and sealed with silicone or a spray sealant.

They are then covered with a solid vented lid and plumbed for use.

Corrugated steel water tanks are designed to be an aesthetically pleasing and cost effective solution used for  rain water harvesting.

For this reason, corrugated tanks have become the preferred choice to store groundwater for household uses, irrigation, and fire protection in both residential and commercial applications.

Rainwater is free from many chemicals found in ground water and as a result, it is suitable for irrigation and watering gardens.

It can also be used for non-drinking purposes including flushing toilets, washing cars, filling pools, etc. As an added benefit, these systems reduce run-off and erosion and also reduce the demand on ground water.

An important issue for customers in the State of Arizona is the fact that this solution ensures an independent water supply during droughts or water restrictions.

Certain cities in southern Arizona are now issuing a tax credit as incentive to install these systems.
