The project consisted of adding 2 lanes of traffic (going from 4 lanes to 6 lanes) to the existing interstate corridor. Rather than widening the existing bridges from 2 lanes each to 3 the DOT option to replace them with a buried bridge. The buried bridge consisted of a 48' span x 21.1' rise deep corrugated structural plate structure. It was partially assembled adjacent to the bridges and then pulled into place beneath them. The structure was backfilled with the existing bridges in place. When the backfill reached the point where it was not possible to compact it, the existing bridges were removed to complete the fill. The bridge piers were left in place. Lanes were shifted above the structure as the road was widened, eliminating the need for a detour."},"13":{"Tstamp":"1774628761","field-type":"text-f","field-title":"Name","field-content":"Joel Hahm"}}
